Carbon Steel
- Suitable for coating – including angle variation
- Hardened and tempered to provide durability
- Corrosion problem possible with some mediums, relevant to length of coat run and blade wipe down
- Guages to 2mm. Thicker available though structure/durability may vary
- Backing/support blade may be required
Stainless Steel 400
- Suitable for coating
- Hardened and tempered to provide durability
- Corrosion resistant
- Gauges to 1mm. Thicker gauges available subject to availability
- Backing/support blade may be required
Polyester (Plastic)
- Suitable for gravure coating – light/easy mediums
- Durable – wear properties may not match steels (medium related)
- Corrosion not a problem
- Material is forgiving to cylinder/roller
- Usually Backing/Support blade required
